Datafloq AI Score: 80.67

Datafloq enables anyone to contribute articles, but we value high-quality content. This means that we do not accept SEO link building content, spammy articles, clickbait, articles written by bots and especially not misinformation. Therefore, we have developed an AI, built using multiple built open-source and proprietary tools to instantly define whether an article is written by a human or a bot and determine the level of bias, objectivity, whether it is fact-based or not, sentiment and overall quality.

Articles published on Datafloq need to have a minimum AI score of 60% and we provide this graph to give more detailed information on how we rate this article. Please note that this is a work in progress and if you have any suggestions, feel free to contact us.

The future is now. Artificial Intelligence is happening, whether you want it to happen or not. As it develops, every facet of our lives will be affected by some kind of AI. With this in mind, we will take a look at graphic design today. It’s no different than any other job, except it might be closer to this development than other trades due to its digital nature.

AI has the potential to handle both regular, boring menial tasks, as well as helping you out with something much more complex, user-relevant. In other words, it’s difficult to determine its potential, except to say that it is substantial. It can evolve further, there is no precedent for it.

Now, there has been some development, to a lesser or greater degree. The article below deals with the usage of AIs now, as well as their potential for the future.

AIs and manual tasks

There is a lot of boring and laborious parts of the job when it comes to graphic design. People get into this line of work in order to express themselves, to get their creative side going. However, many novices don’t realize how much grunt work is involved. A sizable chunk of time we spend on annoying menial tasks, which are very simple but still take up a great deal of our time, can be handled by an AI. So, correcting images, resizing them, cropping assets, things of this nature ¦

For now, there are a couple of pieces of software that do this kind of work. For example, Netflix has solid automatic translation software that makes connect localization a bit easier. Context-Aware Crop is there to prevent accident cropping. Things like banners or layout options will be also covered by a set of AI tools. Furthermore, the influence of AI making the internet more accessible in general is simply undeniable.

Simple things, of course, still in their infancy, but one can expert high-level results in the coming future.

Analyzing a great amount of data

Now, whenever a user gets on a website, a digital service, or an app, a huge amount of data is created at that moment. Data is king, and it will become only more and more important as time goes on if that’s even possible. Namely, as business intelligence grows, as it becomes more complex, so too will data analysis. Cross-referencing becomes more fine-tuned, data sets become more and more valuable. All this, of course, has a practical purpose “ designers, programs, business owners will become more and more ready to make better-informed decisions and choices.

Artificial intelligence will be able to gather data properly, to perform proper analysis techniques and assessments, letting you focus on the thing you want to focus on.

Generative and dynamic visuals

Now, no matter how advanced an AI gets, there is only so much it can do before it’s on the level of a human brain. We are too complex, and it might take centuries, if that, for AI to get on our level. The fact that good human companies like Orion Creative  still exist, is basically proof that AI has not begun taking our jobs and basically never will, but rather just be utilized for better results.

Software like Prisma, or Artisto, for example, are there to identify an exact image. Now, this may be something as complex as a human face, or it might be an image of an apple. Then, they apply certain smart filters that are based on image recognition software, giving you excellent visual results and effects.

Then, something a bit more experimental is Molly. In 2014, a crowdfunding campaign initiated by the Grid has launched an AI called Molly. This AI basically allows websites to design themselves. On the other hand, Auto Draw is also here. This one is a visual component that basically tunes up and finishes your sketches and drafts, moving them more towards a finish, done version.

Personalization

Then, of course, there is personalization. Personalization is pretty important for modern websites and business. You want a page to analyze a lot of user data, and then to modify some of its aspects so to work in line with the needs, wants, and preferences of the user. Things like the time of day, the device the user is using, how many data points are there. Having all of this data, and more, can help you make something personal, yet also very creative, for your clients and users.

AI has great potential use here. It can acquire data and customize it to fit the required visual narrative and style of the user. More enhanced personalization, better results, higher conversion rates, and better relevance.

This, of course, leads to better user experience. For example, Facebook has an AI that detects content in photos and then reads it out to users.  Google translate has been continually updated, for some time now. Google Lens can detect relevant content according to where the user is looking. Couple that with better data security that an AI can provide, and you get not only better personalization, but also greater safety.

Conclusion

Graphic design is all about creativity, about expressing yourself through your work, while providing people with good, proper products and services. AIs are there to help you be more creative. They take on the boring and menial tasks, such as data collection, processing, and generally anything that doesn’t require much creativity, leaving you to work on your own passion.

While the AI revelation hasn’t started yet in its entirety, there are intimations of it already. Many pieces of software exist to make your job easier and simpler, and who knows what the future will bring.
