Rulex venture started in Italy in 2007, as spin-off company of the National Council of Research (CNR), where Marco Muselli proved for the first time a couple of new math theorems able to revolutionize the machine learning technology landscape. The co-founders, Muselli with Andrea Ridi and Ester Pescio (both serial entrepreneurs experts in ultra high-tech startups), had the vision to create an intuitive platform to exploit the huge business potential of such innovative machine learning approach and algorithms and to be prepared for the rising challenge of analytics in big data environments.

The R&D Team started developing a stable and reliable machine learning technology and, based on that, an engine to be embedded as OEM into third party softwares to provide automatically business insights and prescriptions based on real world data. They have developed the technology and the product receiving a continuous feedback from innovative top-users who decided to embed Rulex into their processes (brands like Danon, Italy and RS Components, UK).

At the beginning of 2012 developers added to the Rulex engine a complete GUI in order to have an advanced analytics platform to be provided directly to customers without requiring OEM partnerships. In 2014 the Rulex platform was ready for the go-to-market phase, which Founders decided to start as an American company, Rulex, Inc. in Boston, MA, where they transferred the whole IP and moved the business activities. The R&D team is strategically staying in Italy.
