Since our first Big Data event last April, there have been some big technological changes which are continually transforming the oil and gas industry even further.’
Two of these are the placing of data into the cloud and the use of nano sensors in the field. Early adopters of these new technologies are seeing some good results and they will be featured in this event.’
Apart of new technologies, the other item that has come up since last year is the need to ensure business executives (not just the technical professionals) are fully aware of the data in their company and how best to capture, store and analyse the data to provide real business benefits.’
With these things in mind, the proposal is to host a three day event. The first day (Sunday 24 April 2016) will have two concurrent streams’
one featuring a business briefing for executives and second one a technical briefing on smart mud and the use of nano sensors.’
The second and third day of the event (25-26 April) will see case study presentations and panel discussions on how to create value from big data, encompassing cloud computing, cyber security, mobility, geospatial data and the Internet of Things.’
