Senior Java Engineer – Vice President – Up to 130,000 Base Salaries
One of the very best European investment banks, now located in the heart of London is on the search for VP-level Java Engineers to work on the firm's award-winning platform for its Foreign Exchange business.
They're looking for a proactive and innovative individual who can bring a new style/dynamic to their existing engineering capabilities, building high performance & available applications resulting in the firm expanding their trading venues to stay ahead of the competition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new functionality on Java.
- Design and implement subsystems and inter-system protocols, drive longer-term platform architectural vision.
- Collaborate and communicate openly. Pair with colleagues to write software and solve problems, engage directly with business stakeholders to elicit functional and non-functional requirements, and ensure that the software delivered is fit for purpose.
- Learn and dig into details of the FX business to grow as a subject matter expert.
- Investigate and fix production incidents, drive stability, and monitoring improvements.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience and excellent knowledge of Java.
- Proven track record in high-load distributed system design, fault-tolerant applications, and algorithms.
- Team player, open to collaboration, ability to work in distributed teams and lead engineers.
- Ability to take ownership of a task until its completion and solve complex problems, rather than just coding or testing.
- Good communication skills, ability to work with business and support teams, spoken/written English.
- Eager to learn about new technology and gain new skills as required.
