Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Mobile Solutions Architect for one of our public sector clients and provide architectural leadership for our mobile services. This role requires a highly skilled individual with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and delivering robust and scalable mobile architecture in large, complex IT environments. The successful candidate will drive mobile and application strategies, ensuring alignment with security, infrastructure, and cloud best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architectural Leadership:
  • Design and lead the implementation of mobile service architectures, including Mobile Device Management (MDM) with Workspace ONE, iOS & Android device architecture, and advanced device capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive architecture models, patterns, and standards.
  • Mobile Strategy and Lifecycle Management:
  • Drive the development of a robust mobile app strategy with a strong understanding of the Apple and Google application deployment lifecycles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal mobile service delivery and operational excellence.
  • Infrastructure & Application Architecture:
  • Design scalable and secure infrastructure solutions, with expertise in Windows Server, networking, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
  • Leverage public cloud technologies, containerization, and networking design patterns to build modern infrastructure solutions.
  • Architect application ecosystems, including API-driven architecture, NodeJS development, and CI/CD deployment strategies.
  • Agile & DevOps Enablement:
  • Advocate and implement best practices in Agile and DevOps delivery methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Security & Risk Management:
  • Implement Zero Trust Architecture, data ingress and egress controls, and cyber-resiliency measures.
  • Incorporate risk management and threat intelligence to enhance mobile and application security.
  • Documentation & Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Produce high-quality technical design and specification documents tailored to stakeholders' needs.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to align architecture decisions with business objectives.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Lead Technical Architect in a large, complex IT environment.
  • Expertise in mobile architecture, including:
  • MDM (Workspace ONE or similar).
  • iOS and Android device architecture and capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure architecture, including cloud hosting, networking, containerization, and best practices.
  • Experience with application architecture, API design, NodeJS, and CI/CD tools and techniques.
  • Deep understanding of security architecture principles, including Zero Trust, cyber-resilience, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices, with experience delivering within these frameworks.
  • Technical authoring skills, particularly in producing architecture models, technical designs, and specifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in MDM, Cloud Architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP), or Security Architecture are highly desirable.
