Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the existing AWS infrastructure
- Linux systems and network administration, including high-performance configuration and troubleshooting
- Install, configure, update, and troubleshoot services such as OS-level issues, web servers, database servers, application servers, and VPN (e.g., Apache, MySQL, Postgres, SSH, DNS, OpenVPN)
- Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks
- Set up and troubleshoot filesystem/database backups
- Security compliance and hardening
- Identify and document server compromises, and enhance security through DevSecOps practices
- Proactively participate in process improvement and automation initiatives
- Oversee CI/CD pipelines using CodeBuild and GitHub Actions
- Sustain the process of knowledge sharing with related teams
- Participate in releases and deployments to various environments
- Maintain detailed documentation for post-incident root cause analysis (RCA)
- Communication with users and stakeholders
- Provide out-of-hours on-call support
Skills / Competencies Required:
- 4+ years of relevant experience in a DevOps role
- Expertise in managing production systems
- Proficient with containerisation and orchestration, including Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), and Helm
- Good Python development skills
- Strong knowledge of microservices architecture
- Advanced experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions and CodeBuild
- Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible.
- Skilled in monitoring and observability systems: Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog
- Strong understanding of networking and Unix-based operating systems
- Ability to work across multiple projects in an agile environment
- Excellent communication skills
Desirable skills:
- Experience of using Ansible
- Experience of developing applications in Python
- Experience with MySQL, Postgres, and MongoDB
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Pulumi and Terraform
- Exposure to high-frequency trading and real-time data handling
