From onboarding talent to training them, there are certain aspects wherein an employer needs to closely deal when it comes to human resource management. It can be a challenging task especially if you’re not using the right set of tools or the right strategy.
For instance, if the processes that you follow are slow and paper-driven or based on a resume, it might give a different perspective to the potential candidate. Thus, there are chances you might lose a prospect. Trust me, this is not a good sign for a company that exists in the 21st century. Everything that we do have become online, thus even employers need to follow the trend. They need to start adopting HR tech to smoothen the recruitment process.
As part of the annual HR Tech North America Digital Summit that took place in June this year, a presentation Blue Social was given wherein HR professionals revealed the significance of staying connected in the digital era can be possible only if HR leaders have could align strategic business objectives with technology. Keeping this in mind the human resource professionals must find the best way possible to stay connected with the company’s values and highlight its value to the potential candidates.
A report by Pew Research says, nearly 68 percent of adults in America use smartphones out of which 41 percent have used it looking for jobs. In short, the number of smartphone users has started to grow. So, don’t you think it might be a smart move to start implementing HR technology?
Effective HR tools
It is said that the mobile technology plugs in perfectly fine with social media sites and human resource information system. As per the polled answers during the presentation, nearly 60 percent of the viewers said that it was either HRIS or one of the social media that made an effective tool during recruitment.
One of the tools that caught the attention of many HR professionals was called the Blue smart card. This is an e-business card, not literally but sort of which was developed by Blue Social. This smart e-card is used for streamlining the ability of the user or a job candidate to the desired content or website they want him/her to visit. The technology works based on near field communication (NFC) and it doesn’t even need an app to function for potential candidates.
How does this tool work?
Imagine you’re conducting a job fair. At this fair, you had an interesting conversation with a candidate whom you feel could be the right candidate for the job and would wish to share company details. In such situations, you just pull out the smart e-card and touch it to their phone. Voila, the candidate gets access to every details, documents, and website you wished to share.
HR technology can be amazing in its ways.
Social sites
As digitalization evolves, so will it impact the way how aspiring HR professionals view their job roles and the company. The emergence of cloud technology has driven social media sites to become more user-driven.
Social networking sites have become pervasive in modern life, thus recruiting through such channels has become easy.
As humans stay connected to mobile technologies, it makes perfect sense for recruiters to recruit talent even through mobile. Christen Montero, Chief Marketing Officer at Blue Social says, It allows for more time to have conversations with prospects. Mobile technology ends up having a major impact on turnover, engagement, and culture.
It is also said that companies who tend to spend effective ways of hiring their prospects might have a 50 percent retention rate and perhaps 62 percent productivity.
