Our client is currently seeking a Solutions Architect.
As a senior application services staff member, the Solutions Architect will be responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of internally developed and vendor-based systems implementations assigned to them, participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle, to deliver technical solutions to enterprise needs. The candidate must be able to balance the need for big picture thinking and strong central governance of standards and practices. This is a both a design and hands on development position. The Solutions Architect will provide technical and day to day team leadership through coaching and mentorship, under the guidance of the Director of Application Services or Assistant VP of Application Services.
‘ In cooperation with third party vendors assure successful completion and support of the new systems platform. Assure continued architectural integrity in the new platform and establish a continuous improvement process to keep the platform current
‘ Working with the Business Partners, maintain the systems environment as part of ‘Run the Business’ responsibilities.
‘ Complete system enhancements and testing to implement new products approved by the Product Committee as part of ‘Grow the Business’ responsibilities.
‘ Identify, leverage, and recommend all new technology solutions to enhance business processing as part of ‘Change the Business’ responsibilities. Assure that the individuals in the Resource Pool have the necessary skill sets and attributes to implement the advanced technology solutions.
‘ Collaborates and communicates solution level architectural plans with management staff, the Enterprise Architect, and other technical leads responsible for executing the delivery of the designed architecture
‘ Responsible for ensuring quality deliverables, that meet NWL architectural standards

‘ Proactive in identifying opportunities as well as responding to problems
Excellent knowledge and experience with modern technology tools
‘ High level of expertise in systems development and modern technology tools
‘ Ability to clearly communicate system enhancement requirements and be able to inspect the work product of all staff working on software changes
‘ Excellent knowledge in a variety of technical areas including.
o Deep experience and understanding of Microsoft development and Azure cloud computing platforms
o Working knowledge of Microsoft data integration and Azure data platforms
o Working knowledge of networking and security related technologies
o Working knowledge of Enterprise integration platforms and patterns
o Working experience applying solid architectural principals including development and systems technologies from multiple technology stacks
Education & Experience:
‘ Bachelor’s degree Business Technology or similar degree required
‘ 8+ years’ experience in applications and systems development
‘ 3+ years’ experience in solution architecture
‘ 2+ years Life insurance experience/knowledge preferred
Licenses & Certifications:
‘ None required
‘ Completion of LOMA insurance courses I and II required within first year of employment.
Supervision & Leadership:
‘ Leadership and technology mentorship of application services staff
‘ May have direct management of a small team of developers
