Help this established Hedge Fund build a new systematic trading platform using modern technologies.
With great performance in recent years, they’re capitalising on the opportunity and investing in modernising their data platform and making it one of the best around using Java, Scala, Kafka, Flink and a range of cutting edge, cloud-based data technologies. You’ll be given the autonomy to suggest improvements and implement your ideas, including bringing in new technologies and tools should you feel they’re needed.
You’ll be coming into a team of outstanding technologists, with experience across banks, other hedge funds, systematic trading and big-tech. It’s not just about being an expert working with financial platforms, but being a humble, ambitious and technically strong technologist, who can understand a complex problem and implement the most efficient solution. You know what optimal looks like.
The experience level is flexible for this position, as it’s not just about what you’ve done in the past, but about what you can bring to the team. You’ll of course need commercial experience to bring your ideas to the team and you’ll need to demonstrate your experience of deploying your work into a production environment.
From a technical point of view, again, there are no specifics required, but given the tech stack being used, you’ll need to have strong experience of Java/Scala and data streaming tools and technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Flink, etc. The key aspect is that you understand the technicalities of building a real-time platform that can operate at scale and handle huge volumes of data.
Total compensation is in cash, there are no stock options. The package, depending on experience and what you need will be up to 350,000. We can discuss the split when you apply to make sure it works for you.
