The Senior Cloud Data Engineer will work with team members to design and implement modern, scalable data solutions using a range of new and emerging technologies from the Google Cloud Platform. This position will require working with Agile and DevOps techniques and implementation approaches in the delivery of data products and services.
Responsibilities
‘ Lead the design of a cloud-based data infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.
‘ Liaise and be part of the GCP community, contributing in the knowledge exchange on the platform.
‘ Assist with the development of end-to-end data pipelines: from data collection and cleaning, to supporting experimentation with predictive models, to re-integration of predictive results.
‘ Effectively manage several projects simultaneously, with minimal supervision, potentially coordinating third-party vendor support.
‘ Apply project management methodologies and software to ensure on-time delivery.
‘ Develop and mentor more junior colleagues.
‘ May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments).
Qualifications
‘ Bachelor Degree in Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Statistics or related quantitative STEM field.
‘ 5 years of experience in analysis, advanced statistical analysis, or predictive analytics.
‘ 3 years of hands-on experience with cloud data engineering.
‘ Experience working in a healthcare environment and familiarity with healthcare data types (e.g., HL7, FHIR, claims).
‘ Demonstrated understanding of Google Data Products (BigQuery / Dataflow / Dataproc / Looker / Cloud Data Fusion / Dataprep)
‘ Familiarity with developing data pipelines for predictive services.
‘ Experience coding using Microsoft SQL Server Management
‘ Experience with SSIS ETL using Microsoft Visual Studio
‘ Familiarity with Epic Clarity data
‘ Experience creating data pipelines in Informatica Power Center and IICS
‘ Experience with SQL Server administration
‘ Proficiency is developing CI / CD pipelines.
‘ Extensive experience using Python and R.
‘ Experience in Spark (Scala/Python/Java) and Kafka.
‘ Experience in MDM, Metadata Management, Data Quality and Data Lineage tools.
‘ Experience with SQL and NoSQL modern data stores.
‘ Ability to explain to internal and external stakeholders opportunities and / or limitations of data within the organization.
‘ Experience with project leadership overseeing a team of technical experts, with a demonstrated ability for time management and mentorship.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
‘ Advanced Degree in Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Statistics or related quantitative STEM field.
‘ Experience working with AI / ML in the healthcare environment.
‘ Knowledge in oncology or tumor registry data
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
‘ Professional Google Data Engineer certification.
‘ Project Management Institute (PMI) certification.
