UK located Solutionpath is an Analytics-as-a-Service big data startup that offers data analytics solutions to companies in the higher education industry. They use HP Autonomy IDOL technology to offer services that focus on three different areas. They have developed solutions to empower knowledge workers with the right tools to understand and learn from vast amounts of data.
They are able to reduce data burden by automatically only retaining that information that is valuable to organisations and deleting redundant, obsolete or non-trivial content. Secondly, Solutionpath developed a tool to ensure that information policies are managed correctly and consistently across the data stores within an organisation. Finally, they have developed meaning and semantic tools that will provide new insights from the data to help organisations find solutions for their problems.
Big data offers vast opportunities for the educational industry as discussed in a post and Solutionpath targets exactly that industry. With big data the student experience can be improved, costs can be reduced while the end-results can be improved. Currently they are piloting with a number of Higher Education customers with the objective to improve student retention and experiences. In addition they focus on the pharma industry, where they are piloting a research repository management and archive tool.
