What Jobs Will AI Take Over First?

There’s been talk about robots, i.e. artificial intelligence, taking over our jobs for a long time, some of it made jokingly, some not. However, recent research has shown that 30% of jobs in Britain could be under threat from new technological developments.

A new infographic has identified the jobs AI will take over first. The sector most at risk is transportation and storage, with 56% of jobs under threat from robots, followed by manufacturing (46%) and wholesale and retail trade (44%). In contrast, education and health and social work are the least at risk, with 9% and 17% respectively.

Automation can speed up processes significantly, so there’s no doubt AI would improve efficiency, something economists are keen to point out. But with jobs at risk, it’s natural to be nervous.

Take a look at the infographic to get a visual representation of what new artificial intelligence technology could mean for each sector.
