AppFirst has developed a SaaS-based dashboard to monitor in real-time all data streams that are important for an application and/or business. They have developed the platform especially for DevOps who want to know what is going on in their application, systems and business. AppFirst collects a wide range of data sets, from log files, process data, Nagios plug-ins as well as StatsD. All data is stored, analysed and aggregated in a clear and understandable dashboard.
This dashboard shows the user two different types of metrics. The dashboard makes a difference between user interface, with metrics such as number of visits, sales, orders, conversion rates, revenue per visit, abandoned carts and system metrics. The system metrics include CPU usages, memory usage, server usage, cluster usages etc. Users can communicate within the dashboard to post messages visible to all users. The dashboard allows users to combine different metrics by simply drag-and-drop them on each other. A great feature that will give users additional insights with minimal usage.
AppFirst is a Software-as-a-Service platform based in the cloud and it is easy to set-up. The software was launched in 2009 and works by installing a small piece of software on each of the servers that is used by an organisations.
