Origami Logic, at the moment in limited alpha, has recently received $ 9.3 million in funding to further develop their product for visual self-service analytic for marketers. They aim to develop a user-friendly experience for marketers to understand the available big data within their organization.
Their tool combines big data analytics, data science and data visualizations to create insights understandable for non-engineers. It should help marketers depict the relevant actionable marketing insights from the massive amount of data available to marketers today.
Being new to the playground, Origami Logic is not developing a completely new not-yet existing tool. They want to become a hub for different marketing tools such as Hootsuite, Google Adwords, Exact Targeting etc. This would make life a lot easier for marketers as they do not have to watch all the different platforms individually. There are however more (big) players in the market already who claim the same as Origami Logic does. You have Platfora, Tableau or Datahero who also provide easily understandable visualizations for end-users while combining different data streams within an organization.
The objective of Origami Logic is to launch in 2013 and at the moment they are open to private alpha testers. Already a few users are selected to test the product, but results are unknown at the moment. Although Origami Logic has received a substantial amount of funding this year, it is still unclear if they can differentiate themselves from the tools already in the market available and who claim to offer the same. Their price strategy will influence their success as well and all is unclear at the moment. Although Origami Logic claims to deliver a delightful experience for marketers, very much is unknown yet. Therefore BigData-startups rates with a 5 bits rating.
