For Big Data to fully impact an organisation it is of course important that all of a companys information is digital. A research by Ricoh showed that although managers are aware that big data opportunities require also the physical documents that hold critical business insights, still 50% of the surveyed organisations have five to ten years worth of information stored only in hardcopy. The effect is that it takes too long to find the required information and that analyses are performed not with all the data to obtain true insights.
