Datafloq AI Score: 73.33

Datafloq enables anyone to contribute articles, but we value high-quality content. This means that we do not accept SEO link building content, spammy articles, clickbait, articles written by bots and especially not misinformation. Therefore, we have developed an AI, built using multiple built open-source and proprietary tools to instantly define whether an article is written by a human or a bot and determine the level of bias, objectivity, whether it is fact-based or not, sentiment and overall quality.

Articles published on Datafloq need to have a minimum AI score of 60% and we provide this graph to give more detailed information on how we rate this article. Please note that this is a work in progress and if you have any suggestions, feel free to contact us.

Hadap is democratizing big data by empowering business analysts to leverage a Hadoop based platform to conduct advanced analytics. In order to meet this, Hadapt unifies SQL and Hadoop allowing customers to combine structured data, unstructured data and multi-structured data in a single platform. Users can perform integrated advanced analytics, such as sentiment analysis or predictive modelling, within easy Business Intelligence tools thanks to the integration with platforms such as Tableau.

Hadapt was developed from the ground up to take the full advantages of Hadoop and SQL. It combines the scalable architecture of Hadoop with a hybrid storage layer that incorporates a relational data store. As such, Hadapt makes it possible to do interactive SQL-based analysis on massive datasets. Unstructured data is stored in the HDFS (Hadoop distributed file system) while the structured data is stored in a relational database based on PostgreSQL. As is common with HDFS, all data is triplicated and Hadapt also triplicated the structured data to prevent node slowdowns.

In 2012 Hadapt joined forces with Cloudera to create an advanced big data tool for organisations. Hadapt runs on top of Cloudera and the combination enables companies to perform sophisticated analyses to deliver insights.

Users can use the Tableau Software to easily make analyses using drag-and-drop. The powerful Tableau Software tool is a strong dashboard that gives users insights in their data without having a lot of IT knowledge.  The hybrid architecture of Hadapt is patent-pending and they have created a HDK (Hadapt Development Kit) for developers to build advanced SQL analytic functions for additional insights.

The Hadapt approach of creating one platform to combine all types of data and to be able to perform analysis fast at any scale is an interesting approach, although not unique. It was developed in 2010 by Justin Borgman (now CEO), Kamil Bajda-Pawlikowski (now Chief Software Architect) and Daniel Abadi (Chief Scientist). It was created on top of Abadis research at Yale University on distributed database systems. From the moment Abadis research was published he started receiving phone calls to commercialize his research and in the end decided that he wanted to have a real-world impact with his work. Up to date Hadapt has already received $ 16,2 million in funding. The Hadapt approach is a noteworthy enhancement to existing data warehouse and IT solutions, so therefore we give them a 6 bits rating.
