Octo is looking for talented Senior-level WSO2 DevOps resource to provide support on our GSA COMET contract. GSA is on an evolutionary journey towards an agile enterprise wide API Gateway. The FASeSOA team is chartered to provide business lines and divisional teams the tools, knowledge, methodology, best practices, and operational platform to model, build and deploy business processes in the form of SOA Applications that comply with the FASeSOA Reference Architecture within a defined Governance structure. The objective of the DevOps role is to support eSOA weekly operations to maintain functionality for systems that support government operations.

?Program Mission
This program will support the agencys Information Technology mission to provide development and operational support of mission-enabling applications. The team will work to enhance and modernize current applications leveraging a continuous integration / continuous delivery pipeline to enable an agile DevOps Strategy.
Responsibilities…
- Manage API Support
- Support WSO2 Enterprise Integrator 6.6 and higher
- WSO2 development as required for application specific requirements
- Support operations and troubleshoot any issues with WSO2 EI
- Complete JBoss upgrade and migration as needed.
- Access and provide data (both application and WSO2 systems) data from MySQL Database for analysis and issue resolution.
- Develop using Java-based frameworks for complex system functionality.
- Develop an understanding of client business processes, objectives, and solution requirements.
- Lead in project workgroups with subject matter experts and stakeholders to understand specific needs.
- Employ common application processes, coding standards, and performance standards.
- Support production deployment and production support.
- Support Linux based server operations environment.
- Apply fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments while under supervision.
- Research, design, develop, test, build, and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of software products based on client requirements.
- Direct the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, COTS products, application integration and testing tools.
- Contribute to deliverables and performance metrics.
- Apply a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
- Participate in development of software user manuals, technical deliverables and reports.
- Work on sprint teams using agile, rapid development in environment using Continuous Integration and deployment techniques.
- Support production application – investigate and resolve production inquiries and issues.
- Communicate status to team lead/project oversight.
What wed like to see
- Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science/Engineering or related field.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in software development using Java technologies, preferably in a large-scale enterprise environment.
Strong knowledge with WSO2 Enterprise Integrator 6.6 or higher
- WSO2 development experience
- Strong operational background and troubleshooting skills working with WSO2 EI
- JBoss upgrade and migration experience from 6.x to 7.x
- Experience with MySQL Database
- Object oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
- Knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL (Sybase, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and JPA/ORM technologies (e.g. Hibernate).
- Other desirable technology experience: EJB, RMI, JMX, JSP, JBoss/WildFly, Solr, JEE/J2EE, Spring, Struts, Angular.
- Experience in creating complex SQLs or Stored Procedures a plus.
- Experience with Linux.
- Experience with managing application platform.
- Experience with SOA related to Linux with JBoss integration.
- Experience with SOA orchestration.
- Agile development methodology experience.
- Excellent communications skills both verbal & written.
- Experience with Akana API Management is desired.
