We are looking for a Technical Data Engineer to join Airbus in Filton. You will join SIDY32 Landing Gearand report to the Head of Landing Gear.
The Technical Data domain is in charge of developing and delivering mature aircraft maintenance and material documentation and is responsible for maintaining it throughout the aircraft life to enable the safety and efficiency of maintenance operations by our customers.
An element of the Technical Data vision is to develop and grow our digital offerings to improve the maintenance efficiency of the Airbus fleet. Therefore the role of Systems Technical Data Engineer is more than ensuring the quality, on time and on cost delivery of the Technical Data products; the role also requires the willingness to challenge, adapt, explore and improve the ways of working and adopting digital solutions. You will have the ability to work on exciting projects, focusing on how we modernize technical data so lots of projects.
Within the dynamic Customer Services environment you will become a member of a team of System Technical Data Engineers who support our customers with their daily aircraft operations and have a direct impact on our customer satisfaction. You will have the challenge of managing both internal and external stakeholders, as well as outsourced support.
You will be responsible for the landing gear systems covering all commercial aircraft programs. You will be in charge of assessing and managing any technical change to these systems within the applicable technical data documentation to ensure the correct and safe maintenance of the related aircraft.
Tasks & Accountabilities

Management and coordination of Technical Data authoring activities, including the verification and validation of the manual content ensuring compliance with EASA/FAA regulations (ICA Process).

Participation in transnational and trans-organizational projects and initiatives to improve our products and our processes

Ensuring the delivery of manual content in accordance with specifications, contractual commitments, configuration management rules, approved schedules, quality standards and within budget objectives

Management and answering customer queries providing prompt and efficient support to the customer, combining technical requirements with the push to improve customer satisfaction and detecting any potential safety impact

Assessment of aircraft design inputs (e.g. Modifications, Service Bulletin) in order to detect design changes that drive evolution of aircraft technical maintenance data in Airbus Manuals

Management and monitoring of the subcontractors supporting the authoring activities

Proactive identification of blocking points which could risk the timely update of manuals within your responsibility and defining mitigation action plus execution and follow up

Proactive assessment of your manual content in terms of quality assurance to identify any potential impact to our customers.

Act as an interface between Technical Data, the customers and all the other stakeholders (Engineering, Customer Services Engineering, Programme, Subcontractors and other Technical Data teams).

Drive the innovation of the Technical Data documentation
This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
Skills & Experience

Minimum HNC/HND qualification in an engineering subject plus relevant experience.

A sound understanding of aircraft maintenance, operations and technical documentation.

Knowledge of Landing Gear System is ideal but not mandatory

Proactive, good team player and good organisational skills.

Customer driven, creative and innovative mindset.

Previous experience working in direct contact with the customer with tight deadlines.

Project Management skills.

Familiar with new technologies and digitalisation.

Experience in subcontractor and stakeholder management.
