We have an exciting new role for a Solutions Architect to join our growing Innovation, Design & Architecture team.
As an Architect you will design the end-to-end architecture for a solution ensuring it remains consistent with the overall architecture of the organisation and is aligned with appropriate strategies and principles. You will also be involved in capturing designs for existing systems and recording them within our EA design tool.
Alternatively, you will review the designs provided by other architects (including 3rd party suppliers) to ensure consistency with the afore mentioned strategies, principles etc. You may be required to produce Proof-of-concepts (PoCs) to demonstrate the capabilities of a technology and the applicability to solving a business problem.
- Develop and maintain solution designs based on requirements (functional and non-functional)
- Identify further refinement of requirements engaging collaboratively with CAA colleagues as appropriate
- Participate in planning and definition activities with project managers or the product owner and agile team as part of an agile delivery process
- Assure the quality of detailed solution designs and specifications where other architects or third-party resources undertake their production
- Assist where required in the definition and update of the standards and processes required for the successful execution of the work of the Architecture team and associated IT function
We are in the process of transforming a number of our key technology services; continuing our focus and maturity of cyber security whilst building major new services for our customers to mature new ways of working including Agile and DevOps, and exploiting new cloud-based capabilities in Microsoft Azure.
We are looking for specialistswho have IT experience with direct responsibility for solution or technical design in domains such as Applications, Data, Business, Technology/Infrastructure, Security or Enterprise. We are seeking individuals with awareness of good practices in architecture for both waterfall and agile development.
Ideally we are looking for a background in Microsoft Technologies and Azure Cloud Hosting along with experience in delivering solutions using Service Oriented Design, Micro Services, Web technologies and SQL Server in addition to a proven understanding of DevOps and the concepts of CI/CD.

For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.
To be vetted we will usually expect a reasonable period of residency in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken. This is generally defined as 5 years of most recent residency for SC.
