Join a multi-year platform modernization effort as a Software Development Engineer within our Site Reliability/Chaos Engineering Team! In our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Team, we use Chaos Engineering Strategies to proactively detect issues/weakness of the application platform and drive resiliency/ performance/reliability of the systems by delivering automation at scale.
SRE/Chaos Engineering combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. Within the role, you’ll have the opportunity to manage the complex challenges of scale, while using your expertise in coding, algorithms, complexity analysis and large-scale system design.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyze, Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and continuously improve software and automations tools surrounding all SRE initiatives to drive increased reliability, availability, and scalability of the systems across various platforms (such as Windows/Linux, Openshift, Kubernetes, Azure)
- Translate product concepts into project commitments (features, user stories, etc.) that deliver incremental value to our customers frequently and with high quality
- Apply principles of Agile Scrum delivery
- Work closely with other teams (SRE/TechOps Team) on toil reduction efforts (i.e. automation of repetitive dev and ops tasks)
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for our platforms and help the teams identify opportunities to automate / streamline existing processes from the SRE perspective.
- Partner with SRE/Devops team to identify anti patterns and optimization strategies, create fallback options and help develop self-healing capabilities across the organization in a sustainable manner
- Create high-quality software by conducting peer design/code reviews and developing automated test cases
- Actively mentors team members, through brown bags and tech talks
- Grow and maintain knowledge of and leverage cutting edge IT industry / marketplace technologies and trends to support highly available distributed systems, and the transformation of legacy systems.

Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, GoLang, and/or Python including object-oriented design
- 1+ year Industry Experience in Systems Engineering (Linux/Windows Servers)
- 6+ months Hands on Experience working with Docker Container
- 6+ months Hands-on experience on REST-API development.
- 6+ month Experience with SQL Databases (such as SQL Server, MySql, Postgres)
- 6+ months Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins
- Experience working in an Agile environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in engineering, Computer Science, or 3+ years of equivalent IT Industry Experience
- Experience in full stack development including UI development like React, Angular
- Experience in Django, Nginx
- Experience working with Cloud (such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, GCP, Azure)
- Experience in SRE with strong Interest in SRE topics like SLO, resilience, scaling, performance, etc
- Experience with Application Performance Management Tools like New Relic, Dynatrace
- Experience with log management tool like Splunk and queues like Kafka
- Experience of designing/architecting and building cloud based high throughput platforms
- Experience with modern technologies/telemetry like Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger, Elasticsearch
- Deep understanding in Chaos principles/experiments and hands-on experience with chaos tools
- Good understanding of networking concepts (e.g. routing, firewalls, proxies) and technologies (e.g. HTTP, TLS, Nginx.)

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900.
