Local Unit & Position Description
DNV Energy North America is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team. This position is responsible for supporting custom IT solutions for its Energy Efficiency Program Delivery Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining software for day-to-day IT operations and to deliver IT products, services, and solutions efficiently by planning and managing resources, scope, and services of application development projects. This position partners with DNV GL Business Analysts, Product Managers, program delivery staff, software vendors and external development partners to deliver custom IT solutions to our business clients.
This position will be a Hybrid located in our Okemos, MI; Katy,TX; Austin, TX; Dallas, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Oak Brook, IL or Jacksonville, FL offices
What You’ll DO
- Enhance, troubleshoot, and maintain desktop, web-based, and database-intensive applications
- Work with minimal specifications to implement changes into production systems, and continually managing this process
- Interface and collaborate with clients to clarify requirements
- Deploying Software releases to various environments
- Occasionally manage small IT projects and associated system integrations to deliver projects of medium-high complexity
- Contribute to process improvement efforts and follow standard processes and procedures
- Maintain current business knowledge, including application of technology
- Create custom queries and reports
- Develop reports, processes, graphs and dashboards to track key program performance metrics, including forecasting energy savings, tracking budgets and client invoices
- Develop, streamline, document and automate energy efficiency program processes
- Support critical analysis of program data to identify operational and data anomalies and exceptions
Position Qualifications
What is Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related discipline
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a software engineer
- Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to manage multiple projects
- Must have experience in the following technologies:.Net core, ASP.net Webforms, C#, VB.Net, HTML, JSON , XML, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, CSS, APIs, Visual Studio, T-SQL, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Stored Procedures
- Secure Coding practices such as OWASP
- Demonstrated understanding of Software design principles and patterns
- Scrum or other agile experience
- Excellent communications skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of business management and with vendors
- We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening
What is Preferred
- Git, GitHub, JIRA, SVN
- Experience with DotNetNuke a big plus
- Energy sector experience
- Experience in Microsoft Azure, DevOps, and CI/CD Tools and Processes

As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act and New York City Salary Transparency Law, DNV provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado or New York City. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado and New York City, NY only, the range of starting pay for this role is $60,000 – $75,000.
