Overview
BigBear.ai is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the AWACS 552nd ACW team at Tinker AFB. This software engineer will assist AWACS government program office team, working in conjunction with government engineers and program managers, as well as other support contractor engineers and program managers, with the below described responsibilities.
What you will do
- Utilize software expertise to build and refine program technical requirements related to software components of the AWACS mission systems and subsystems.
- Draft and revise software related contract CDRLs, and review/critique vendor deliverables relevant to software components of the AWACS system
- Obtaining and licensing software by obtaining required information from vendors; recommending purchases; testing and approving products
- Performing Software Quality Assurance (SQA) on prime contractor delivered software to ensure that developed software meets and complies with defined or standardized quality specifications.
- Perform other software engineering and documentation tasks as assigned, in support of the AWACS program office.
What you need to have
- Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Top Secret clearance
- BA/BS degree in an Engineering/Technical discipline, with 2+ years of experience, or;
- Associates Degree with 4+ years of experience, or;
- Advanced Degree (MA/MS) with some professional experience, or;
- 8+ years of professional experience, with no degree
- Progressive experience in software engineering and/or software aspects of weapon systems development, 8 of which must be
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and to lead and direct the work of others.
What we'd like you to have
- Prefer experience in DoD Environment/in support of DoD acquisition contracts.
- Prefer experience with major aircraft software development programs.
