Your role
Tackle complex problems and develop clean, stable solutions that scale. The ideal candidate should have a genuine passion for designing and implementing elegant, high-quality software. With high standards and commitment to providing exceptional user experience through beautiful design. We strongly believe that a product shouldn't just be useful’it needs to look great too.
They would also be intimately familiar (and up to date) with their development ecosystem for making sound decisions when it comes to choosing the right tool or library for the job. We expect our engineers to be able to contribute across the entire product stack, as well as collectively oversee the integrity of the codebase.
Your responsibilities
In this role you'll be:
- Writing scalable, robust, testable, efficient, and maintainable code
- Translating UI/UX design requirements into stable, high-performance software
Within 1 month you'll:
- Provide technical leadership around our frontend with exceptional knowledge around React and ideally some experience with server web infrastructure, such as Go, Python, Rails, CDNs or Node.js
- Work on our new web application, focusing on essential features like payments, cards, and spend management flows’including our Insights hub with storefront, payouts, and media integrations
Within 3 months you'll:
- Mentor other frontend engineers, helping them boost their productivity and growth
- Help build our engineering culture as we're growing.
- Participate in product monitoring, incident management, on-call support, and customer support
- Fix two thorny unfixed bugs, which the team otherwise could not have done
- Help us significantly increase our development velocity through faster feature delivery
Within 6 months you'll:
- Drive product quality improvements by resolving bugs and enhancing performance metrics
- Take pride in both the product and codebase
- Help attract more talented developers to join our team
Your qualifications ‘
What we need to see
- 5+ years of experience with React
- 3+ years of experience with TypeScript
- Strong expertise in Next.js App Router (SSR / ISR / SSG), Tailwind CSS, and React Query or SWR
- Be pro-active, resilient and available especially when approaching big deliveries
- A commitment to excellence in every deliverable’creating seamless, intuitive user experiences. Your attention to detail should shine through as you consider all scenarios, always putting user experience first.
- Strong ability to receive feedback and provide constructive input to team members
- Open-mindedness and enthusiasm for learning about financial technology. You should be proactive in understanding Fintech operations and applying this knowledge to your work.
What we'd love to see
- Experience building and shipping client-facing projects, either independently or collaboratively
- Experience working in fast-paced environments
- Ability to test, evaluate, and recommend technologies to improve our solutions
- Capability to provide day-to-day application support
