Bumble is expanding its analytical function and we are looking for an experienced Product Data Analyst to be part of the established Product and Revenue Data Analytics team. You’ll join our team of bright and talented analysts and data scientists analyzing and contributing to solving complex business problems.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manipulate complex datasets using a range of tools e.g. Python, SQL, Hive and Spark
- Deliver actionable insights to product, marketing, billing, engineering and operations teams
- Construct forecasts, recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge
- Take the lead on new exploratory research projects in a wide variety of areas
- Fast delivery of actionable insights within an environment of rapidly changing priorities
- Partner with the wider Business Analytics and Insights teams to solve complex business problems
- Create specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements
- Contribute to enhancements in team operations, efficiency, skill sets and infrastructure e.g. our Bumble Python library
- Using appropriate data visualisation to tell stories with data
- Work alongside Product Managers to identify opportunities for monetisation optimisations and new feature development
- Work with Product Managers and Engineers to design effective experimentation methodologies
EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Proven experience querying, analysing and providing insights from large datasets (100 TB+)
- Experience working with large and complex data models, ideally within B2C, Gamification, Social app and/or any other mobile app businesses
- Advanced SQL: analytical functions, performance tuning, data wrangling
- Python is our preferred scripting language, although equivalent experience in R will also be considered: pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, matplotlib, plotly, seaborn
- Experience with optimisation of monetisation dynamics and techniques
- Statistical modelling experience e.g. regression, classification, clustering
- Strong knowledge of metrics relating to business health, product and user experience, coupled with a strong understanding of leading and lagging indicators, guardrail metrics and business KPIs
- Proven experience in the design and technical specification of experimentation (e.g. A/B testing, user group testing): significance analysis, non-parametric methods, bootstrapping, causal inference
- Ability to engage and collaborate with key stakeholders such as developers, product managers and senior management
- Comfortable working with a broad range of BI tools (or willingness to pick up new tools quickly), identifying the most appropriate solutions across diverse stakeholder needs
- Great verbal and written communication skills, with a clear and concise writing style
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience working with jupyter notebooks a plus
- Experience in presenting findings to varying audiences (technical and non-technical stakeholders) and catering presentation style appropriately
- Excellent time management and knowing how to manage multiple priorities, breaking large projects into manageable pieces
