Our client is one of the world’s largest financial institutions, serving individuals, small- and middle-market businesses and large corporations with a full range of banking, investing, asset management and other financial and risk management products and services
In connection with the ongoing support and development of the Collateral, Futures and OTC business for Global Markets, we are looking for a highly experienced, strong Java and Oracle/PL-SQL Developer to join the technology teams in Bromley, UK working on a range of applications for Collateral.
Key Accountabilities:
Develop, enhance and support a range of critical microservices and portlets using Spring and Spring Boot technologies. The successful candidate will be expected to liaise with both technical and business colleagues in UK, India, and US. Current team members will provide support to enable you to familiarise yourself with the relevant functional aspects of the development role.
You will be expected to have at least 7-8 years of commercial development experience utilising:
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Developing software applications using Java/J2EE frameworks.
Experience in Database programming tools (Oracle Database – SQL/PLSQL), Shell Scripting (Unix), Hibernate, Spring Framework (Spring Boot/Rest API).
Experience using version control/project tracking/CI/CD tools like GIT, Bitbucket, Jenkins and Ansible.
Experience in design, development, testing and implementation of microservices and Web based applications.
Solid understanding of the software development life cycle and SDM model for CI/CD processes and associated tools
Serve as a development team member for Level 3 Production Support issue resolution
Experience interacting with Business product owners and end users to define new software requirements and triage any issues that arise
Demonstrated ability to work effectively under minimal supervision
Experience working with Agile methodology and can effectively work as part of a wider development team spread between London, Singapore and India.
Experience writing technical designs
OTHER SKILLS:
An aptitude for problem analysis and resolution and eye for details.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A good ‘team player’ but also have the ability to work independently.
Have a keen sense of innovation, with valuable suggestions of new ideas, ways of working and technologies.
