The Senior DevOps Reliability Engineer will be working in an agile team, following scrum practices and will be responsible for helping to maintain availability on our current and legacy services, whilst working with the teams to design and build new strategic services based on public cloud technologies.
The successful candidate will work with key business stakeholders, scrum teams, DevOps, Security and third-party service providers to ensure that we deliver effective and efficient solutions to our customers. Maintaining our estate will be a key part of the role with a drive to remove repeatable work and implement automated efficiencies where possible.
The role will involve:
> Delivering projects features and enablers designed to make use of public cloud technologies and creating maintainable code and infrastructure.
> Building, running and ongoing improvements to our Kubernetes infrastructure as we migrate and transform legacy applications to containerisation.
> Help implement Datadog monitoring across our technology stack to ensure we can measure, make informed decisions and pre-empt failures on the platform.
> Working inside an agile team supporting infrastructure services, features and releases.
> Investigate, resolve and perform root cause analysis on service outages, resulting in permanent resolution and identifying improvements.
> Build repeatable infrastructure and hold configuration in place using automation and proactive monitoring.
> Identify and remove technical and legacy debt to improve the efficiency of systems.
> Mentoring of team members and sharing knowledge across the team to enhance team capabilities.
You will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities that fall within your capabilities as directed by management.

> Background in Infrastructure and IT Operations and/or development.
Ideally you will have a working knowledge of Azure and its relevant build, deployment, networking and security technologies in cloud and hybrid environments, experience working in an Agile framework using DevOps tools, Microservice architecture including Docker and Kubernetes, Networking including AWS, Azure, Cisco and firewalls, Windows server (2012+) and Linux server administration, source control software and methodologies, monitoring and log management including DataDog and Redgate, experience with advanced scripting and/or software development and Infrastructure as code, CI/CD concepts and building pipelines.
Desirable skills include experience managing and automating cloud platforms using tools including Azure DevOps, Packer and Terraform, desired state configuration, and experience working within a agile environment.
