International FMCG organisation is seeking to secure an experienced Senior Data Engineer.
The role will sit within a small Data Engineering, Applications & BI Team which is part of a much larger IT function.

Role:

  • Involved with Data Architecture activities such as – Data Blueprint, Design & Development.
  • Data Roadmap for Data Sets across Data Architecture & Platforms – how Data should be structured.
  • Evaluating Data Architecture & Software.
  • Impact of changes to Data.
  • Data Movement & Transformation processes between Application/Services/Solutions – SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, other enterprise ETL Platform.
  • Involved in the complete Data/Business Intelligence development lifecycle.
  • Implement end-to-end Data & Reporting solutions for internal teams.
  • Support with the migration from QlikView to Power BI.
  • Gather & define requirements – identify new opportunities for the business/internal teams.
  • Enterprise Data & Reporting related development – develop and present prototypes to the business.
  • Provide Reporting & Data support – Power BI.
  • Provide governance & guidance onData best practices.
  • Liaison with all IT Business Systems teams, Business functions & Third Parties.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Data Architecture, Blueprint, Design & Development.
  • Design & Develop data solutions.
  • Data Acquisition, Movement & Transformation experience.
  • Azure BI Technologies – Azure Data Factory & Azure Data Bricks – desirable to have both.
  • SQL / SSIS / ETL – hands-on experience.
  • Power BI & Excel – Design, Deliver & Support BI Reporting solutions.
  • Data Warehouse Design, Development & Testing.
  • Data Modelling experience – ideally Star Schema / Kimball methodology.
  • Design & Develop Master Data Entities – provide data quality guidance & best practices.
  • Design & develop Data Integration processes between Applications & Business Systems.
  • Assess legacy reporting applications & provide suitable recommendations for upgrades.
  • Document all BI & ETL development, data structures & maintain the documentation.
  • Undertake & support IT Governance processes (License review etc).
  • Provide mentorship & development support to junior Data Engineers.
  • Customer Focused & Proactive approach.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a remote based team.
  • Collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.

Desirable Experience:

  • Migrating QlikView to Power BI
  • QlikView – support experience.
  • Self-ServiceCloud & HybridBI Solutions.
  • Data Management / Data Governance Practices.

Contractual Hours: Monday to Friday – 40 Hours Per Week – some flexibility regarding start time.
