This role will be temporarily homebased due to COVID-19. Then subsequently working from our Glasgow office with hybrid and flexible working options available.
The iVN is a greenfield desktop application used to model and calculate commodity distribution on a district/city scale. The primary languages are C++, using Qt framework, C# and SQL. CMake is used to generate our build environments while Jenkins is used for build automation and Perforce for source control.
Duties will include:
- Implementing and driving technical improvements
- Collaborating with team members on software design
- Ensuring consistency and quality of the codebase
Applicants should have the following skills and experience:
- Commercial experience and background with C++, C# and SQL
- Experience of implementing and sustaining software architecture and design patterns
- Driving technical design discussions
- Championing clean code principles and test-driven development
- Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
- Able to communicate and distill technical issues
- Mentoring junior members of the team
- Knowledge of CMake and Python
- Knowledge of Scrum, and other Agile software methodology and principles
- Cloud computing skills, preferably in Azure platform
