If you never want to have to go into an office again, then read on.
In a nutshell, I am after a business professional, nerdy person that comes from a development background, who loves TypeScript (node, especially) to build cloud infrastructure, who knows their way around AWS and their myriad services, and who likes interacting with lots of different people, solely online.
So, Ill expand!
Im working with a remote-first consultancy company who are AWS partners, specialising in building contact centre cloud-first solutions for massively well-known global brands.
They use some of the coolest, newest services from AWS, including Amazon Connect, Kinesis (I know-cool, but not new!), Polly, and Lex that enable them to build chatbots and the like, leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, behind the scenes. You wont need to have used these niche services to be considered for the role, but if you have a desire to use them, that would be beneficial!
They also build a lot of the cloud infrastructure that they provide to their customers, using a variety of technologies, including SAM, CDK, a smattering of terraform, with a serverless architecture which runs node.
As Ive mentioned, they are a consultancy, so everyone has client interaction, including their engineers. So, its really important that you are happy and able to communicate well with all kinds of people, including very senior external people- techies and non-techies alike.
You will be working on different projects, sometimes concurrently, so you need to be able to manage your time effectively, and have each customer experience and goals in mind when building your solutions.
You will be set up in your home office with high-spec kit, and will never be asked to go into an officethey dont have one!
They operate an Agile methodology; iterative development processes, stand ups, retros, etc.
The core skills Im looking for, up front, are;
- AWS– CDK, DynamoDB, Lambda, CloudWatch, SAM, API Gateway
- TypeScript– they use/ run node for a variety of things, using it as the strongly typed language it should be used as!
- Serverless– they use serverless architecture, but some clients have VPCs, so VPC knowledge would come in handy
- Client-Facing- ability and desire- you must be the kind of person who likes to talk to lots of different people, techies and non-techies alike.
If this sounds like you, then apply now and we can have a chat about your new role!
