Job Description
The Operations Data Analyst is responsible for establishing key metrics and report standards aligned to business outcomes. This position reports to the SVP Operations Logistics and works closely with Operations Leadership Team, Engineering and Facility Leaders to define product/solution objectives, identify relevant data sources, define, and document key metrics, enforcing programmatically standard calculations used in company internal and external reports. This role will lead the development and execution of reporting and analysis and assist in building a solid analytics platform by baselining and sourcing data and ensuring consistent metrics definitions across data sources and lines of business. The Analyst is equally technical and business oriented, understanding how to map relevant data to business metrics.
Key Duties/Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of metrics reporting and analysis, leveraging data from multiple data sources on multiple platforms for all Vericast Operations. 25%
- Ownership of key metric and standard reports strategy, setting guidelines and standards, promoting adherence across multiple teams. 25%
- Create appropriate standards, processes, and tools to promote and facilitate a consistent approach for data and analytics focusing on generating business insights. 15%
- Implement standard dashboards and delivery mechanisms enabling data-driven insights for internal and external clients. 15%
- Drive prioritization, delivery and status reporting of activities and initiatives across the Manufacturing Analytics project portfolio. 5%
- Manage, understand, and analyze data for trends, patterns, and failure points, and drive data stewardship to maintain data quality. 5%
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties above. 10%
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree (Required)
- Bachelor’s Degree required, focusing on Statistics, Mathematics, quantitative business methods or related field.
Experience
- 2-5 years’ experience in report development, financial analysis, data analysis or similar role.
- 3+ years Tableau, Power BI, Datorama or similar data visualization tool required.
- Experience programming in statistical tools (SAS, R, etc) desired.
- Advanced MS Excel, Access and PowerPoint required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Experience with reporting and analysis design, measurement strategy, and development of business metrics.
- Proven skills in articulating and communicating data-driven insights and strategies both verbally and in writing to colleagues and senior leadership.
- Proven characteristics of intellectual curiosity, responsibility, determination, creativity, flexibility, drive and self-confidence.
- Excellent written, oral communication, project management and presentation skills. Ability to present complex data reports, financial analyses, and statistics in a simple and clear manner.
- Passionate about analyzing data, drawing appropriate conclusions, and able to effectively translate findings to business strategies that positively impact the business and customer.
- Experience querying multiple database platforms required (Hadoop, SQL, etc)
- Experience performing complex data aggregation, cleansing and quality audits.

Ability to summarize data analysis to Operation Leadership, Engineering, Marketing, Product Management, eCommerce, Finance, IT, and Sales management.
Ability to communicate in a succinct and precise manner for management contacts.
Ability to communicate in technical detail to development and vendor resources.

Manage multiple analytics projects concurrently.
Use judgment to identify, prioritize, structure and solve complex business problems.
