Vargo is recruiting for a well-established international business based in South Wales. Our client is undertaking a large programme of work where they are changing their core ERP system to SAP.
As part of this ERP change programme, the client is looking for data analyst to work on improving their master data. This is central to the successful implementation and configuration of the ERP system.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES AND ACTIVITES
Coordinate material master data setup and validations with applicable cross functional departments ensuring data quality and integrity is maintained
Execute changes to Master Data (customer, discounts, material, vendor etc) as approved by the business to create, change, delete, extend, flag for deletion or otherwise noted
Maintain service levels and procedures in accordance with established policies and procedures
Assist with the ongoing and periodic maintenance of material master data to ensure data quality and compliance
Conduct data cleansing tasks to ensure parts of the systems are kept up to date
Work with business units and appropriate team members to resolve Master Data issues in an efficient and timely manner
Assist in testing change requests affecting master data in development systems
Raise issues and risks to appropriate team members / business partners relating to Master Data and potential adverse impacts to the wider business
Work closely with the business / IT to ensure alignment of master data rules and the operations of the application meet all requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERTISE
ESSENTIALS
Solid experience of working in a master data function environment supporting business stakeholders to ensure the existing Master Data is kept up to date and business rules are being adhered to.
Ability to collaborate with diverse group of cross functional and apply experience and knowledge to solve problems
Intermediate experience of Excel with ability to perform data cleansing tasks
Possess excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Excellent attention to detail and delivery of high-quality work
Strong ability to organise, manage and prioritise multiple tasks and meet specified deadlines
Teamwork – awareness of immediate needs and willingness to provide support when required
You should be highly effective as part of a wider team, and a real team player
DESIRABLES
Exposure to an ERP system
Exposure to MDM and/or data quality tools.
Knowledge of SAP master data structures would be a distinct advantage
Commercial experience of using Microsoft Excel, Power Query & SQL that is used to maintain the integrity & accuracy of master data with the ERP system.
