Linux Engineer
Location: Parico offices with hybrid working
Reports to: Parico Technical Team Lead
Salary: 40,000 – 60,000

The Role:
Parico is seeking a skilled Linux Engineer who is smart, curious and prospers against the challenge of working closely with a small business to solve complex and challenging problems across the Public Sector landscape. Youll have the freedoms to be truly innovative to roll up your sleeves, get stuck into the detail of systems, and generally do what it takes to achieve incredible technical solutions to our customers complex problems.
You will be part of a team developing greenfield services for our clients, using cloud services and on-premise infrastructure, will support and maintain an extensive portfolio of Linux technologies, related storage, server platforms and integrated management software. You will be responsible for securely managing and monitoring services, ensuring we deliver a seamless environment and experience for all our clients.
Responsibilities include:
Design and implementation of infrastructure to ensure successful delivery of industry leading solutions.
Development and maintenance of Linux based operating systems, configuration and customize components of the operating system.
Experience with Linux filesystems and volume management solutions.
Knowledge of configuring, securing, hardening, operating, and monitoring infrastructures, platforms, operating systems and supporting services based on Linux (e.g. Ubuntu, CentOS and RedHat) and their current variants.
Prior experience managing certificates.
Work closely with other key staff, including the Infrastructure Architects, on the development of new services.
Build and maintain the overall security integrity of both cloud and on-premises environments.
Understanding of how Linux solutions fit into the broader IT ecosystem, including integration of authentication, and directory services with other platforms.
Working in a close-knit Agile team and providing regular updates to the Scrum Master and Product Owner.
Ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation.

Experience and track record of building and managing customer environments.
Substantial experience as a Linux Server Engineer or equivalent role in an enterprise environment.
Be able to work as a member of a team of Systems Administrators performing a variety of tasks from performing daily system checks to delivery of new business projects and applications.
You should have the ability to work under tight deadlines and be able to prioritise under pressure as you will be working on multiple projects at the same time.
Excellent problem-solving skills and comfortable taking on new challenges.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Hold a UK Driving Licence and have a willingness to travel to client sites
Ability to hold a minimum of UK Security Clearance (SC).
