Lead Software Engineer
To lead the development of high performance, mission critical applications in line with technical designs and the delivery of PL/SQL and Oracle reports into test and production environments successfully. This role may involve line management responsibilities where agreed.
All about You/Experience
Should be able to:
‘ To lead, develop and deliver database designs to application teams and support designs in development test and production environments.
‘ To perform the role of a technical team lead giving direction and support to other members.
‘ To monitor, manage and plan development Oracle resource utilization and succession planning.
‘ To lead and develop implementation of Oracle application designs of payment subsystems, working closely with the team members of the Development function.
‘ To work with System Analysts and Development Managers to ensure database designs and/or code is developed according to the agreed requirements and timelines. Produce the project plans in conjunction with development manager.
‘ To produce and assure database designs at across programmes to agreed quality standards.
‘ To ensure all code is developed across programmes to agreed quality standards, design principles, coding standards and Enterprise Architecture.
‘ To create and assure development designs and the development process across programmes.
‘ To ensure all code is successfully unit/component tested before delivery to central test.
‘ To take the lead role in the creation and review of technical option papers / specifications.
‘ To provide mentoring to less experienced developers.
‘ To actively participate in recruitment to supplement the development team where needed.
‘ To provide HL Technical solution and cost estimates for IT propositions.
‘ To contribute to continual departmental/function improvement by identifying gaps/weakness and implementing remedial solutions.
‘ To identify opportunities to strengthen departmental processes, tools and ways of working.
‘ To ensure all projects resources and applications are succession planned and able to be supported.
‘ To keep an up to date record of resource utilisation to ensure 90% utilisation is achieved across all Oracle resources.
‘ To ensure the Oracle development virtual team has the required skills and experience to support all VL programmes.
‘ To carry out any other task associated with the role as reasonably requested.
