Role: Infrastructure Engineer (With training to become DevOps Engineer)
Location: Hybrid / Doncaster (In the office 2-3 times per week
Salary: 35-45k + On-Call (worth 3k + O/T) + Benefits
Are you an enthusiastic System Administrator / Infrastructure Engineer with a desire to be trained in DevOps practices? You need to hit the ground running administering and looking after a Windows Server and Linux (Centos) on VMware environment and you will be put through a training programme to skill you up in DevOps and infrastructure automation on a mainly AWS & GCP platform.
Our client are a large and successful retailer and ecommerce business with an excellent opportunity for a talented Infrastructure Engineer to join their small team of 3rd line technical engineers. The team supports all businesses across the Group utilising a mix of technologies.
You will play a key role in providing business systems and information whilst working with internal stakeholders and external partners to produce world class solutions to support the future growth of the business. You must be passionate about technology and willing to join an on-call rota 1 in 6.
There is a varied technology infrastructure estate with a mix of on-premise and cloud solutions which means the work is varied with an opportunity to make a real contribution and shape the future landscape.
Skills:
Ideally you will have extensive IT infrastructure background with prior (and current) experience in the core infrastructure technologies, including but not limited to:
- Linux OS.
- Windows Server OS.
- Cloud based technologies – Azure, AWS, Google (GCP).
- Strong Data-Center networking experience.
- In addition, strong open-source technology knowledge within production environments would be advantageous.
- Some experience managing and leading projects including setting expectations and providing updates to key stakeholders.
- Able to build relationships with internal teams and also establishing strong links and relationships with our IT vendors is also a key requirement.
