Electrical / Software Engineer required for a manufacturer based in Brighouse. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will be experienced in a similar role. Responsible to work with customers both on the phone and also on site to diagnose and correct electrical and PLC software issues encountered with the machine relating to the interface with the control system and drives.
Laser Calibration using RENISHAW laser equipment to measure machine inaccuracies and, if fitted, by using the control systems positional correction data reduce the errors to within specifications.
Backing up control system software using various PC software packages (dependant on system fitted to the machine).
Electrical / Software Engineer – Manufacturing Position Overview
When retrofitting of a customers' machine with a selected control system and/or spindle and axes drives. Responsible for handling all aspects of the project to fulfil the objectives within the allotted time and budget
Producing the electrical schematics for the project.
Producing the parts list of all electrical parts required and locating suppliers and obtaining prices of the components.
Ordering of the parts required and ensure promised delivery date is met.
Liaison with and sub-contract the building of the electrical panel and operator control station and ensure all parts required are purchased and supplied.
Producing the PLC software to control all aspects of the machine for the control system fitted.
Producing the operating manual to give instruction of all aspects for the control of the machine.
Liaison with and sub-contract to fit and wire the electrical panel and control station to all the external control equipment on the machine (switches, aux. controls etc.).
Setting up and commissioning the control on completion of the re-wire of the machine.

Produce electrical schematics
using “TRACE SOFTWARE – ELECWORKS” electrical drawing software package.
Writing and diagnosing the PLC software for HEIDENHAIN controls
using “HEIDENHAIN – PLC Design”
Backing up and restoring HEIDENHAIN controls.
Writing and diagnosing the PLC software for SIEMENS controls
using “SIEMENS – STEP5” and/or “SIEMENS – STEP7”.
Backing up and restoring SIEMENS controls.
Writing and diagnosing the PLC software for FANUC controls
using “FANUC – FAPT LADDER III”
Backing up and restoring FANUC controls.

Salary likely circa £40k
Core working hours 38 ½ hours per week ( Monday to Thursday 8.00 to 16.30 Friday 8.00 to 15.00 ( ½ hour lunch break )
Holidays 25 days + bank holidays ( 33 days total )
