Location: Occasional travel into Central London or Winchester Offices (we work in a Hybrid Environment)
Salary: Up to 60,588
Your key responsibilities will include:
Develop and deploy cloud services through the use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Implement and maintain software testing and deployment pipelines
Deploy and maintain application and service level monitoring
Peer-review team members’ code contributions
Participate in Backlog Refinement sessions to aid in designing solutions and adding low level detail to planned work
Provide operational support and maintenance for existing and new applications within agreed service levels
Be a source of expertise in the architecture, implementation, deployment and management of workloads on AWS, finding optimal solutions with
regard security, availability, reliability and cost efficiency
Be a champion DevOps practices and collaborate with our Development team to streamline the software delivery process and identify areas of improvement
Conduct research and document emerging technologies, identifying the opportunities and risks these may present
Must haves:
Have experience of implementing and maintaining automation tooling to enable Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) to enable faster and safer delivery of software features and fixes (such as ConcourseCI. Or Jenkins, CircleCI, Amazon CodePipeline)
Have been engaged in hands-on experience public cloud platform (ideally AWS) for 3 or more years, including EC2, Route53, S3, RDS (or alternative vendor equivalent)
Have experience using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tooling to manage Cloud resources and interact with service APIs (such as Terraform, CloudFormation)
Be proficient in the use of a code version control system (such as Git)
Have elementary to intermediate Software Development skills using one or more of ideally JavaScript/NodeJS/TypeScript, Python, Go, Rust or another modern high-level programming language
Be familiar with use and purpose of automated software testing frameworks: able to develop, execute, debug and improve test suites in collaboration with the Development team
Be experienced developing with containerisation technologies (such as Docker)
Have experience in Linux Systems Administration, ideally within the Public Cloud and/or Containerised context
Be experienced with processes and solutions that help to secure computing environments, especially in the software development space
Have a proven ability to learn when faced with something new – through study and on-the-job training – including Dev/DevOps tools, programming and configuration languages, operating systems, AWS services, software SDLC methodologies and more
Might haves:
Have current AWS Certification: Certified Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator are ideal
Have some experience of Database administration
Have worked on platforms employing a Serverless and Event-driven architectures
Have hands-on experience with one or more of: AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, ECS Fargate, RDS Aurora, API Gateway, ACM, EBS, ElastiCache, building with the CDK
Be experienced working alongside customers and key stakeholders
