DATA SCIENTIST, SUPPLY CHAIN
POSITION PURPOSE
We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our team of Supply Chain Developers. The Data Scientist will play a major role in the strategic vision of the Advanced Analytics team, which is to continue building a robust analytical platform using Power BI and Python.
By utilizing RPA, Machine Learning and other Data Science applications, this individual will contribute to both the teams vision and development as a thought leader for future innovation. This will allow for a platform that will empower business users to navigate complex information and accelerate discovery into critical factors that impact cost, service performance, and overall Supply Chain Efficiencies.
MAJOR / KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured and diverse big data sources to generate actionable insights and solutions that drive increased supply chain efficiencies and provide value to our customers.
Provide quantitative research, modeling, analysis while working with business units to identify opportunities/issues to form hypotheses
Synthesize findings, prepare presentations and assist in presenting findings to all levels of leadership
Explore novel methods of retrieving data from multiple sources and develop end-to-end data science analytical solutions that rely on Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence to optimize key business processes and improve efficiency.
Apply statistical methods and concepts including data mining, statistical theory, predictive analytics and research procedures to test hypotheses. Develop proofs of concept or demonstrations to evaluate feasibility of project solutions.
Apply knowledge of programming/coding language (i.e., SQL, Python, Scala, R) to develop scripts or applications.
Responsible for leading all aspects of technical design, development and deployment for the CHEP Qlikview & Python applications
Provide leadership and training in the development of technical skills in others through active knowledge sharing/mentoring
Develop Applications for Digital Signage and Logistics Control Center
Apply architectural and engineering concepts to design a solution that meets operational requirements, such as scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability and manageability
Responsible for learning new data science techniques/programming languages and exploring & experimenting their viability on current projects and CHEP business processes
Facilitate and lead data gathering efforts and support testing during validation process
