Data Scientist, Python, Pandas, NumPy, Fully Remote
Many companies are waking up to the opportunities that their data holds, and are looking to monetise that for their own gain, but this company isn’t one of them! They’re a leading healthcare-focused charity, carrying out some of the most important patient and staff surveys in the sector, together with independent research, and they’re seeking a Data Scientist with experience of using Python for data processing and manipulation, keen to build on their skills and experience, in a world-class setting.
The Role
The Data Scientist will be joining a small, dedicated team of Data Scientists, who are responsible for the development, implementation and improvement of processes related to the preparation, analysis and interpretation of large quantitative/qualitative data sets. The Data Scientist will prepare complicated data sets, including validation and cleansing as required, to enable further analysis to be carried out, and will create high-quality data outputs, using Python programming skills, as well as some SPSS, and/or R etc.
With a head office in Oxford, the position can be office-based, fully remote, or a combination of the two they’re flexible!
What’s Required?
- Experience gained with Python, within a data/research context, for data processing/manipulation – experience with survey data a big plus
- Experience in using the Pandas and NumPy libraries for data management is preferred
- Whilst commercial experience is preferred, this experience could have been gained within an MSc or PhD setting
- Experience/knowledge of statistical methods and/or experience of using statistical packages for analysing data sets (E.g. Python, R, SPSS, etc.) would be helpful, as would any experience with NLP
