DATA ENGINEER

THE COMPANY:
Harnham is in partnership with a huge UK-based insurance company. They are undergoing a large digital transformation migrating their commercial data to GCP. A skilled Data Engineer will support the migration project and find ways to integrate data sources based on new products being developed.
THE ROLE:
As the Data Engineer, you will be responsible for engaging with the Data teams to understand commercial requirements and develop ETL pipelines that support commercial incentives
You will:
- Gather data requirements from the Product Owner and other senior stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Data Squad and SMEs to design, test, and build ETL/ ELT pipelines in BigQuery
- Gathering data from external sources and load into Teradata and GCP environments.
- Automate ETL pipelines
- Maintain the functionality of the GCP platform.
REQUIREMENTS:
You will primarily be responsible for enhancing existing ETL/ ELT pipelines and ingesting new data sources based on new commercial metrics and products. You will need a strong ETL background with some of the following skills:
- SQL
- GCP/ BigQuery (or any cloud)
- Python (ideal)
- Strong data modelling experience (Kimball, Dimensional Data modelling, Star/ Snowflake schema)
- Good communication skills.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
A successful candidate will receive:
- A competitive salary of up to 60,000 with a great benefits package. Remote working is also offered for the role.
