What you’ll be doing
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and adaptable Data Professional to work within our Catchment Insights team, in the Asset Strategy and Planning department.
Data is at the heart of our asset management decision-making and the Catchment Insights team provides the data, tools and insight required to make optimal asset management decisions, that maximise long-term value and align with the objectives and purpose of the organisation.
You’ll be working alongside a team of hydraulic modellers, analysts, and GIS specialists to support the timely delivery of data & insight to the Asset Strategy and Planning Community
You’ll work within the team helping to source data and build pipelines, ensuring we’re working with the best available data from across the company
You’ll support and coach developing areas of the wider team in data analytics
You’ll use data manipulation techniques to analyse and interpret complex datasets and transform them into actionable insights.
You’ll use visualisation techniques and build automated dashboards to share this insight with the wider business.
What you should bring to the role
‘ Experience working in a data-driven environment
‘ Experience in statistical analysis, programming and querying languages such as python, Ruby, SQL, or R
‘ Advanced Excel and Power BI skills
‘ Knowledge of Extract Transform and Load (ETL) processes, data engineering principles, and cloud data infrastructure
‘ A degree or equivalent within an analytical field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, computer or data science).
Would be an advantage:
‘ Experience working in the water industry and or with a good understanding of regulatory processes, such as price reviews
‘ Experience working with geospatial data and using GIS software (e.g. Esri ArcGIS)
