Positions in this function are responsible for the management and manipulation of mostly structured data, with a focus on building business intelligence tools, conducting analysis to distinguish patterns and recognize trends, performing normalization operations and assuring data quality.
Depending on the specific role and business line, example responsibilities in this function could include creating specifications to bring data into a common structure, creating product specifications and models, developing data solutions to support analyses, performing analysis, interpreting results, developing actionable insights and presenting recommendations for use across the company.
Roles in this function could partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop tools and models such as segmentation, dashboards, data visualizations, decision aids and business case analysis to support the organization. Other roles involved could include producing and managing the delivery of activity and value analytics to external stakeholders and clients. Team members will typically use business intelligence, data visualization, query, analytic and statistical software to build solutions, perform analysis and interpret data. Positions in this function work on predominately descriptive and regression-based analytics and tend to leverage subject matter expert views in the design of their analytics and algorithms

Design, code and execute programs to extract, aggregate and manipulate pharmacy and medical claims from various sources, identify data integrity issues
Develop new and maintain existing SAS programs to analyze healthcare claims to support ad hoc data requests, including data processing, data cleansing and exploratory data analysis (EDA)
Transform data and/or develop insights for use in business decisions
Develop and support programs to run automated jobs that extract data, perform analysis, and generate reports
Promote usability and software development best practices
Perform data quality control checks on code and deliverables
Participate in data source exploration, identify data integrity issues, and select relevant information
Participate in interpretation business requirements and create technical specifications
Ensure high quality delivery to the customers and participate in formal delivery to business customers
Contribute to knowledge sharing, ideas and information relating to current data analysis technologies
Analyzes and investigates
Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Finance, or related field)
1+ years of healthcare related, post-baccalaureate experience.
2+ years of programming in SAS, R, Stata, Matlab, SPSS, Python, or similar, with solid familiarity with SQL
Working knowledge of relational databases, and database structures and data analysis
Proficiency in Microsoft tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Demonstrated excellent problem solving, data and analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities
Demonstrated ability to be motivated, inquisitive, and able to readily take ownership of responsibilities
Health care experience working with medical and pharmacy claims
SAS Certificate and/or SAS trainings
Experience with pharmacy industry and drug pricing
Open source and cloud-native technologies

Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $54,400 to $97,000. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada/New York City residents is $60,000 to $106,700.
