Harmonic are delighted to be retained by a rapidly growing Online Marketplace business who are looking for a talented and proactive Chief Data Officer to join the business.
The Business
Having successfully doubled turnover in the last two years to circa 65m and growing headcount to 400, this business have decided to create a new role for a Chief Data Officer. The company are renowned for their award-winning culture which is underpinned by their key values. There is a fantastic non-corporate, dynamic culture in the company and with offices based in London, Midlands and the North, they are open to candidates from various locations across the UK.
In terms of what the business does, they operate an online marketplace within the Financial Services sector. They have become the go-to brand for what they do, but have loftier ambitions to become true innovators in the sector. Following lengthy internal discussions and with a view to gaining potential future investment, the Board has decided that a Chief Data Officer is required to help the business scale further.
The Role
The current internal situation is that there are several 'blind spots' where although collecting a vast amount of data the business is not harnessing it in insightful ways. Therefore, there is fantastic scope for a proactive and innovative individual to come in as Chief Data Officer and lead on a truly transformative data strategy. Reporting directly into the CEO, you will be given the autonomy to decide and implement the correct Data tech stack and lead on policies that will transform this business into a 'data-led' company.
This position will be suitable for candidates who are both action-oriented and forthcoming in bold ideas that will help the business achieve their strategic aims. This is a unique opportunity to come into a business and lead on a Data transformation project that will truly transform a scaling business.
Duties
Your duties will include but not be limited to:
- Create and execute an enterprise data strategy including a robust master data governance framework.
- Drive enterprise digital transformation for a more customer-focused, agile and lean organisation.
- Create a data-driven campaign management capability using structured data to enable the business to deliver personalised and tailored campaigns.
- Create new complex analytical models to allow propensity and predicative modelling techniques to be used to optimise our customer journeys.
- Launch of target data governance setup and implementation monitoring.
- Establish and govern an enterprise data roadmap to include internal processes data management and analytics.
- Provide leadership over GDPR, data governance and regulatory compliance.
- Implement a data quality framework to establish standards controls and associated metrics for all dimensions of data quality (accuracy, completeness, consistency, integrity, reasonability, timeliness, uniqueness and validity).
- Identify potential use cases for data monetisation.
- Manage existing data teams and partner relationships.
What we need to see (essential):
- Knowledge of data management theory including data lakes, data vaults and data modelling.
- Data engineering – science/insights and analytics functions.
- Prior knowledge of financial services or direct to consumer strategy.
- Strong quantitative skills essential including excellent python and coding capabilities.
- Advanced and complex analytics.
- Excellent knowledge of SQL.
- Prior experience with coaching and developing teams.
Salary: 100,000 – 140,000 plus bonus and benefits
