Backend Software Engineer / Developer (Distributed Systems Node.js Real-time) *Remote Work UK*. Are you a skilled Backend Software Engineer? You could be working on complex and challenging systems whilst continually learning and collaboratively problem solving with some of the best engineering minds at a highly regarded tech company that provides serverless real-time infrastructure for the Internet that processes billions of messages a day and powers everything from live chat and VoIP calls to real-time pricing and stock availability for a multitude of services around the globe.
As a Backend Software Engineer youll collaborate to design and develop new features and improvements to the core platform. The platform is written in Node with elements of Golang and Elixir; youll use a range of technology which is constantly under review, youll be able to suggest new technologies and contribute to open source projects that the company supports or integrates into the product.
The company is able to offer a completely remote interview and onboarding process as well as fulltime work from home from anywhere in the UK; youll collaborate via Slack (there may be occasional visits to the office in North London required, for team meet-ups, tech talks, lunch and learn events etc. when social distancing is over although this isnt essential).
Requirements:
- Deep understanding of Distributed Systems engineering
- Broad knowledge of software engineering best practice, experience with a range of languages (OOP)
- Node.js experience (ideally commercial); Golang and / or Elixir beneficial
- Full lifecycle development experience including testing
- Advocate of clean, well written code
- Contributor to the open source community
- Excellent communication skills
