Backend Software Engineer / Java Developer *Remote / WFH*. Are you a data centric technologist? You could be joining a fast growing FinTech that is helping to revolutionise consumer banking through the use of advanced data centric, SaaS Cloud based banking technology and progressing your career working on a complex Big Data platform.
As a Backend Software Engineer you will design and develop new features and components on the Data platform / infrastructure, building data analytics systems, reporting tools and recommender systems. The platform is built with Java on AWS infrastructure with AWS services and Open Source frameworks e.g. Kafka; you'll be encouraged to learn new technologies and contribute to the technical discussions.
There's a remote interview / onboarding process and the ability to work from home full-time in a “remote first” culture with occasional team meet-ups and socials in London.
Requirements:
* You have strong backend Java coding skills
* You have a good knowledge of data engineering / data streaming with experience of Open Source big data technologies; must have Kafka – Spark, Hadoop, NoSQL, CockroachDB would also be great but not essential
* You're collaborative and pragmatic
