The Role:
We are seeking a skilled AWS DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Kubernetes, infrastructure as code using Terraform, CI/CD automation with a preference for GitLab CI or Concourse, and a solid understanding of the AWS stack. The candidate should excel in automating container deployments using Helm, Docker, and Kubernetes, and be well-versed in best practices for containerisation. This role also involves expertise in availability and capacity management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters.
- Optimise and scale Kubernetes infrastructure.
- Implement best practices for Kubernetes security and performance.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to automate and streamline the deployment, monitoring, and management processes.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, with a preference for GitLab CI or Concourse.
- Ensure reliable and efficient code deployment processes.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of AWS services and effectively leverage them in the DevOps processes.
- Automate container deployments using Helm, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Enforce best practices for containerisation, including security and resource optimisation.
- Familiarity with Istio for service mesh configuration and management.
- Implement and manage monitoring and observability solutions using Kibana, Grafana, and Prometheus.
- Ensure high availability of systems and applications.
- Proactively manage system capacity, performance, and scaling.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD methodologies.
- Proficiency in at least one CI/CD tool, preferably GitLab CI or Concourse.
- Strong understanding of the AWS stack and its associated services.
- Experience automating container deployments with Helm, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Istio, Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus, Java, and/or NodeJS is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
