FlyData is a Big Data startup that makes moving data to the cloud simple. FlyData is relevant for asynchronous data insertion of large databases into Amazon Redshift in near real-time. Amazon Redshift can handle large-scale datasets using massive parallel processing and is capable of handling analytics workloads on those large datasets.

FlyData is an official partner of Amazon Redshift and their mission is to develop a “data pump in the cloud”. FlyData Enterprise enables easy management of the ETL process to the cloud, allowing existing data warehouses to move large data sets seamlessly, securely and with integrity. Some of the features of FlyData include continuous loading, flexible JSON format support, query scheduling and management and it is scalable and able to handle data up to 100 Gigabyte a day for many tables.

FlyData was formerly known as Hapyrus and was founded in 2011. They are based in Sunnyvale, California. It was founded by Koichi Fujikawa, a former engineer for Yahoo! Japan. They have graduated from the accelerator program at 500 Startups and have received seed funding from a variety of seed investors. They have no patents (pending) and have not yet won any awards.

There many clients operate in the Gaming, AdTech, Saas or Online Media industry. For these industries it is important to query their data and gain insights from it the moment it is created. FlyData has created a seamless user experience to make this possible in combination with Amazon Redshift.
