SUMMARY:DECT ULE Technology Summit 2017
DESCRIPTION:DECT ULE Technology Summit is a two-day event that includes Conference\, Workshops\, Hackathon and DECT Awards. \nFrom 2016 to 2022 the global connected home market segment is expected to grow with CAGR 14%*. Security\, lighting and climate control applications are driving this growth. Despite the impressive growth rate\, this market is still in the ‘early adopter’ stage. Relative high cost\, technology fragmentation and privacy and security concerns are hampering even stronger growth. \nTo accelerate mass market adoption\, the DECT Forum and the ULE Alliance developed ULE technology as an extension of DECT\, the de-facto standard for residential and business Voice and Data communications. ULE technology transforms millions of existing DECT installations in homes and businesses into secure\, cost-efficient and versatile gateways for the implementation of home automation\, security and climate control scenarios in residential and enterprise environments. \nThis conference will address recent developments in connected home and enterprise applications and provides a technology outlook for ULE\, a proven and reliable\, low-power wireless technology that enables simple\, reliable and cost-effective connected home and business platform. \nhe Hackathon Challenge:\nDevelop a connected product and/or service for the smart home or smart building \nThe Hackathon attracts developers from a wide range of application segments. Although DECT and ULE enable a wide range of possible applications\, the challenge shall concentrate on the smart home and building. One is typically an end user residential market and the other more of an enterprise market\, however the boundaries are not fixed and can often blur. \nDECT & ULE together offer a very compelling development platform for new application ideas. Voice and data in a single application is at the heart of this technology. Well thought out application concepts and implementations that understand this\, and take advantage of the wide deployment of DECT and IP DECT will be rewarded for their endeavour. \nSeveral partners challenge you to participate in this exciting Hackathon\, of which the focus will be on creating mind boggling product/service combinations based on connected products.\nEnjoy two days of grinding\, workshops and coding\, while building an Internet of Things product/service combination. Start from scratch\, be inventive and create an awesome\, though useful result. And\, not least\, enjoy full two days fun and inspiration with other creatives and techies. Interested?\nCome join us for this hackathon on May 31 and June 01\, at B.Amsterdam\, The Netherlands.

The other aspect of this work involves designing and testing in the laboratory mechanisms for discovering and aggregating widely dispersed information using economic incentives. Examples are the discovery of social networks from patterns in email exchanges\, the prediction of uncertain events using groups of people within a market setting\, and more recently the economics of attention. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTOM KALIL\nFORMER DEPUTY DIRECTOR \nWHITE HOUSE OFFICE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY POLICY \nThomas Kalil is the former Deputy Director for Policy for the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and Senior Advisor for Science\, Technology and Innovation for the National Economic Council. SUMMARY:Global Big Data Defence 2017 Summit
DESCRIPTION:The growing role of Social Media and OSINT sources within intelligence exploitation\, the optimisation of support for targeting\, the future of Big Data architecture and how can predictive analytics can make a substantial contribution towards the optimisation of defence procurement processes are all issues that will be addressed at the next Global Big Data Defence Summit in June 2017 in Berlin. \nAlong four different streams: collection\, analysis\, dissemination and exploitation; key decision-makers and experts representing a number of Ministries of Defence and collective defence institutions such as NATO\, will analyse the role of Big Data at the time of tackling the current overload of information that is affecting military operations. \nGlobal Big Data Defence 2017 Summit will provide you with : \n\nAn update on the European Defence Agency future implementation plans regarding Modelling and – Simulation and CIS solutions\nFurther details about the Indian Armed Forces roadmap regarding the application of Big Data solutions in a number of fields such as procurement\, logistics and naval forces\nAn overview of how the\n500 million investment over 5 years (2016-2020) allocated to the Big Data PPP from Horizon 2020 can affect the European defence industry\nHow the EU Commission\, the US and leading-industry are planning to further increase cooperation under the Picasso Project\n\nAbout Big Data and Defence:\nData collection has become a critical aspect in today’s military operations. However\, modern armies are finding hard to effectively analyse and exploit all the data collected within a multisource environment\, including C4ISR\, OSINT\, GEOSINT\, Multilingual and Coalition sources. \nThe impact that Big Data can have at the time of providing timely situational awareness for effective decision making can be key. Through the use of this technology; collection\, integration\, storage and organisation of information can be better achieved as all-source analysts will be able to get actionable intelligence in a timely manner.
